Josephine Bonavenia, 86, a long-time resident of  Pawling, passed away Tues, January 8, 2008 at Northern Westchester Medical Center, Mt. Kisco, NY.
    
Born in the Bronx on Nov. 19, 1921, she was the daughter of Gennaro and Theresa Manna.  Mrs. Bonavenia, with her husband Anthony, owned and operated Bonavenia Pizza King on Route 22, Patterson, NY for many years.  Mrs. Bonavenia was a seamstress and homemaker, and a parishner of St. John’s Church, Pawling; she was a past member of Children of Mary Mt. Carmel Church in the Bronx.
    
In addition to her husband, Anthony, who survives at home, she is survived by five sons, Anthony Jr. and his wife Michelle, Gennaro and his wife Laurie, Angelo and his wife Lynne, Joseph, and Louis and his wife Joann, all of Pawling, NY; a daughter, Eleanor Smith and her husband Paul, also of Pawling; and twelve beloved grandchildren, Gennaro (C.J.), Ashley, Amanda, Lauren, Jeremy, Ally, Jessica, Anthony, Louis, Nicholas, Paul Jr., and Joseph.
    
Friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY Wednesday 7-9 PM and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 11th at 11 AM.  Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, New Rochelle, NY.
    
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Mrs. Bonavenia’s memory to Breast Cancer Prevention Institute, Inc, 9 Vassar Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
