Joseph F. Brown, 71, a long-time resident of Pawling and Dover Plains, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury, CT.
  
Born in Brooklyn, NY on January 11, 1937 , he moved to Pawling in 1952. He worked as a custodian for the Pawling Central School District until he retired July 1, 1995.  He had also worked as a security guard for House Watch, Inc., and was a constable for the Town of Pawling.  Mr. Brown had also worked for Pawling Rubber Corp.
  
He married Judith Osborn in Patterson, NY on July 1, 1969; she survives at home.
  
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Kyle and wife Violet Brown of Dover Plains, and his daughter, Jody and husband Randy Martin of Millbrook; six grandchildren, Anthony, Elizabeth, and Makayla Brown and Khoisa, Denise, and Brett Martin; and several nieces and nephews.
  
Friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling Friday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.  A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, March 1st. at 11 AM.  Burial will follow at Pawling Cemetery.
