Sarah “Sadie” DaBramo Casey

Sarah DaBramo Casey, 78, passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2007 at the homestead with her loving family at her side.  Born in “The Old Stone House” in Pawling, NY on March 5, 1929, she was the daughter of Michael “Jim” DaBramo & Josephine Franceschini DaBramo.

On October 24, 1954 she married William B. Casey, Jr., who died in 1990.  She is also predeceased by her loving son, Mark A. Casey, in 1996; her sister, Aida D. Stevens; brother-in-law, Maynard J. Stevens; and sister-in-law, Celeste DaBramo.

Sadie is survived by her daughters, Andrea C. Morse, and husband, William Sr.; Valerie J. Andrews; Melanie A. Casey and Tim Myrden; and son, Peter D. Casey, and wife, Cathy; Gregory A. Brown and family; and niece, Julie A. Czerenda, and husband, Michael, and family.  She is also survived by her brother Emilio “Dee” DaBramo and several nieces and nephews.

Sadie is survived by her loving grandchildren, Jason C. Stock and Brandon C.  Myrden; Philip S. and Sarah J. Andrews; Kristin A., William L. Jr., and Kyle Casey Morse; and Stephanie A., Shawn M., and Juston J. Casey.

Sadie contributed much to her community.  In the late 1940’s – early 1950’s, as a beautician, she owned and operated her own Beauty Shop in the Dutcher House in Pawling, NY.  She was a lifelong member of the Beekman Ladies Auxiliary and the principle caregiver for many elderly family and friends.  Sadie’s generosity touched all she met through her gardening talents and knowledge.  She was committed to helping the Veterans, the Dominican Sisters of Hope and St. Judes among others.

There are no calling hours.  A memorial service in her honor will take place at St. John’s Church, Pawling, NY at 11:00am, Saturday, August 4, 2007.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
