Richard J. Casey

Memorial Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, at St. John's Roman Catholic Church in Pawling.
There will be a visitation with family and friends at 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass.
A reception will be held in the lounge outside of the gym at Trinity-Pawling School following the Mass.
Casey was President of the insurance company, Ricray Agency, Inc. for more than twenty-five years. Then, he received a Masters of Education at Manhattanville College and became the Dean of Students at Webutuck. Subsequently, Dick was very influential in having the Webutuck Middle School bond issued and after completing course work in administration became the administrator of the middle school prior to his retirement to North Carolina, where he continued to work, coach and teach at both the Ravenscroft School and The Franciscan School, in Raleigh.
Pat and Dick Casey raised their wonderful family in Pawling. They were high school sweethearts growing up in Brewster, where Dick starred and held the career scoring record in basketball for many years. He is a member of the Brewster High School Hall of Fame.
The couple coached the Pawling High School Lady Tigers Volleyball Team, and took the Lady Tigers to the New York State Final Four in the fall of 2001. Dick Casey coached the Tiger Boys Basketball Team, and Pat Casey had an outstanding career as a teacher at the Pawling Central Middle School. Dick Casey was the Dean of Students at Webutuck High School.
Casey is survived by his wife Pat, and by their four children: Doreen Kelly and husband Chris and three children ( Ryan, Sean and Erin) from Raleigh, NC; Ray Casey and his wife Esther and ten children( Victoria, Daniel, Elizabeth, Nathan, Catherine, Patrick,William, Thomas, Hannah and Bethany) from Indianapolis, Indiana; Brian Casey from Miami, Florida; and Sean Casey and his wife Jill and four children ( Taylor, Riley,Sean and RJ) from Hightstown, New Jersey ; sister Linda Wells and her husband Robert, of Gaffney, SC and brother-in-law Dan McCarthy of White Plains.
