Raymond R. Denny, Sr., 81, a resident of Hollywood, FL, formerly of Wingdale, NY, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Golf Crest Nursing Home, Hollywood, FL.
  
Born in Connecticut on July 22, 1926 to Walter and Selena (Irwin) Denny, he had been employed at Pawling Corporation, Pawling and Hunts Country Furniture, Wingdale; he also owned and operated his own repair shop on Route 55 in Wingdale.
  
Mr. Denny served in the US Army during WWII, during which he was stationed in Guam.  He was a member of the American Legion Post #1949 in Wingdale and the JH Ketcham Hose Company in Dover Plains.
  
Ray enjoyed fishing and hunting, and puttering around in his repair shop and keeping company with his best friend, Peter Cooper.
  
He is survived by his wife, Lena Denny of Hollywood, FL, previously of Pawling and Wingdale; sons, Raymond Jr. and Walter, both of Vermont; three step-children who will greatly miss him, Donna Brunow and Peggy Cutler-Marett, currently of Hollywood, FL and Donald Cutler of Wingdale;  he leaves behind grandchildren, Arthur, presently serving in England, Robert, serving in Germany, and Paul Brunow of New York; great-grandsons Alex and Donald “DJ” Brunow; great-granddaughter Kimberly; and many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
  
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a brother and a sister.
  
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 27th at 11 AM at the Wingdale Veterans Plot in South Dover Cemetery, Church Hill Road, Wingdale, with Pastor Anthony Bacino of the Dover First Baptist Church officiating.
  
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Post #1949, Wingdale, NY 12594 or the JH Ketcham Hose Company, Dover Plains, NY 12522.
