John W. Fretwell, 62, resident of Wassaic, NY for 22 years, passed away March 18, 2008 at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, NY.
  
Born in White Plains, NY on November 26, 1945, he was the son of the late William and Mary (Bailey) Fretwell and graduated from North Salem High School.  John worked for Union Local 235 for 38 years in North White Plains, NY.
  
He married the former Sharon Collins on October 27, 1990 in the South Amenia Church in Amenia, NY.  He and his family enjoyed the summer season at Camp Waubeeka in Copake, NY.  John coached Pee Wee Soccer, Farm Team baseball, and Little League baseball.
  
In addition to his wife, John is survived by three sons, Jesse Fretwell of Wassaic, John Fretwell of Pleasantville, and Joshua Collins of Pawling; three daughters, Cheryl Watters of Columbia, SC, Joanne Benjamin of Cape Coral, FL, and Gloria Hagerman of White Plains, NY; two brothers, Craig Fretwell of Las Vegas, NM and Gary Fretwell of Great Barrington, MA; two sisters, Ruth Raveling of Melbourne, FL and Nancy Charalabakis of Pawling; eight grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  He is predeceased by his brother William.
  
Friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, Friday, March 21, 2008 from 2-4 PM.  A service will be held at 3 PM.
