Isabella “Belle” Reynolds
Isabella “Belle” Reynolds, 94, a former long-time resident of Pawling, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at the Hebrew Home for the Aged, Riverdale, NY.
Born in Coatsbridge, Scotland on May 18, 1913, she was the daughter of the late John and Penelope (Tuttle) Johnston.
Belle was a knitwear designer for Coats & Clark in NYC, commuting on the train every day, and she used her knitting talents making numerous hats, mittens, and sweaters for the Christ Church Christmas Bazaar over the years. Belle was a member of Christ Church for many years.
She is predeceased by her husband, B. Bruce Reynolds, who passed away August 31, 1994, and her two sons, Rodd McCormick Reynolds and Paul McCormick Reynolds.
Belle is survived by her grandson, Alexander Reynolds, of Huntersville, NC and her daughter-in-law, Janet Tracy, of NYC.
Friends may call at the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, Saturday, February 16th from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM at Christ Church, Quaker Hill, Pawling. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Christ Church in memory of Belle. |
