Jennice French Richards, 82, formerly of Pawling, passed away Nov. 16, 2007 at the Chilton Hospital, Pompton Plains, NJ.
 
In recent years, Mrs. Richards made her home in West Milford, NJ.  Prior to moving to New Jersey, she and her husband, Francis Elisha Richards, made their home in Camden, ME.  Before retiring to Maine, the Richards lived in Pawling, where Mr. Richards taught English for many years at Pawling High School.
 
Born in Portland, ME on June 2, 1925, she was the daughter of Thomas J. and Alice (Knowlton) French.  After high school, she studied in Boston.
 
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Sybil Miller of Beacon, NY and Hope Edelman of Ringwood, NJ and two sons, Christopher of Pawling and David Richards of Cumberland, ME; she is also survived by nine grandchildren.
 
Mrs. Richards is predeceased by her son, James “Jay” Richards, who died in Nov. 1977.
 
Funeral services will be conducted on Weds., Nov. 21, 2007 at the Long Funeral Home,  Camden, ME.  Visitation will be before the funeral service which is scheduled at 10:30AM.  Burial will follow in the French Family Cemetery, Lincolnville Beach, ME. 
 
Local arrangements were under the direction of the Horn & Thomes, Inc. Funeral Home, 83 East Main Street, Pawling, NY.
 
The family has requested that donations in Mrs. Richards’ memory be made to the American Cancer Society, Vassar Brothers Medical Center, 45 Reade Place, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601
