John R. Tiso, 82, a resident of Patterson, NY, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008 at Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, NY.
  
Born in Mt. Vernon. NY on December 15, 1925, he was the son of the late Carmine and Marcella (Luciano) Tiso.  He married the former Norma Tabacchini in Detroit, Michigan on July 15, 1950.
  
Mr. Tiso was a World War II US Army veteran who worked as a machinist for Edwards Garage Door Operators in Yorkers, NY, and owned and operated Zipz Ice Cream Parlor in New Rochelle, NY.
  
Survivors include his wife, at home; his son Gary J. Tiso and wife, Jacqueline, of Patterson, NY; grandchildren John and Samantha; his sister, Vera Coviello of Mt. Vernon, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
  
He is predeceased by his son, John Tiso, who passed away on May 25, 1983, and grandson, Allan John Stewart.
  
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
