Pawling will play Fox Lane tonight, Saturday, at 5:30 p.m. at the Brewster Stadium.

Brewster Bears 2, Pawling Tigers 1

Jen Rabe scored on a powerful team attack on goal in the first half to give Pawling the 1-0 lead that the Tigers took into the halftime break, in the first-round game at the Brewster Tournament on Friday evening.

Pawling dominated in possession and shots on goal in the first half, but Brewster got their sticks down in the second and refused to let the Tigers clear the ball from the Pawling end of the field.

There was little keeper Becky McKinney could do about the two Brewster goals in the second half, because the Bears simply would not let the Tigers clear the ball out of the circle. Brewster had far too many opportunities, and it was inevitable that they would score eventually. Pawling continued to play hard to the final minute, mounting a series of charges in the final five minutes, but the Tigers were unable to penetrate the Brewster defense for the goals they needed.
