The Pawling Tigers will host the Dover Dragons on the volleyball court at 4:30 p.m. this Tuesday, October 16.

The teams are very evenly matched and are certain to stage an epic contest on the court at Pawling.

Pawling features setters Chelsea Souter and Katherine Bolduc, hitters Margo Hackett and Juliana Tangredi, on a team that has made tremendous progress on defense and fundamentals. Kaitlyn Rivera, Christina Hom, Marilyn Knapp, Erin Johson, Casey Nelson and Jessica Iankowitz all contribute excellent passing and defense.

Dover will bring in setter Sarah DeVries, who will feed outstanding hitters Taqiyya Averhart and Julia Chopay. They are supported by a very talented roster of Shevon Allen, Katie Infantino, Tashawna Averhart, Cody Anderson, Meaghan Somers, Isabella Robisheaux, Shannon Slater and freshman Aislynn Merling.

Pawling coach Susan Tuthill said of her team at this point in the season, "The girls have been doing very well thus far, and after tonights loss against Haldane we are now 7 - 3.

"The highlight of our season was our last game against North Salem. where the girls were down in the 5th game 22-18 and came back to score the next 6 points and win the entire match. They have showed so much heart and team work, more  then I had ever seen in any team I had ever coached. All the hard work in the off season is finally paying off for our team. We are in shape this year and have been serving consistently above 85 percentile range at each game. The girls are now also serving directly to spots called by me during the match.

"We spend an ample amount of time on pressure and game-like situations in practice. We also have my husband/ assistant coach Brian serve and hit hardest at the girls in practice, preparing them for our biggest competitors.

"In September we also played in the Carmel Tournament where we played all A and B class teams. Were very successful in beating some and coming neck to neck with other higher class teams. Before tonight's loss to Haldane we were on a 7-game winning streak. We are now 1-2 in the league.

"Our next game will be at home against Dover. I am VERY proud of my team and extremely satisfied with the effort the team has put forth for me this season. I hope that we will continue to play as intense throughout the last four matches of the year."
