Next home game: September 26 vs. Rye Neck
The Pawling Tigers dominated the first game of the opening home volleyball game, winning the game at 25-10.
Pawling then lost the second game, but won the third, then lost games three and four to fall 2-3 for the match.
The Tigers showed the kind of quality volleyball they can play in the first game, serving up nine aces with just one service error, and playing solid defense.
Hitters Margo Hackett and Juliana Tangredi had a good game, with outstanding sets from Chelsea Souter and Katherine Bolduc.
If Pawling can continue to play solid defense, that is enough to be competitive, and the offense will develop through the season.
Katherine Bolduc and Kaitlyn Rivera each soared for block kills in the game, stifling the Keio offense and forcing the visitors to change the offense to play around the Pawling net defense.
Christina Hom, Marilyn Knapp, Erin Johson, Casey Nelson adn Jessica Iankowitz all contributed excellent defense in the first game, as the Tigers pulled away and won the game easily. |
