On August 11, the Pawling Recreation Department and the Pawling Cross Country and Track & Field Boosters will host the 3rd Annual 5K Cross Country Race & Fun Run at Lakeside Park.

Families, beginners and expert runners will enjoy this event, which involves a course that winds around the lake at picturesque Lakeside Park in Pawling.

Note from the meet director: “In an effort to continue to build interest in distance running in the Pawling community and the surrounding area, we are once again hosting the Lakeside Park 5K Run. The course which will be run is one of area’s newest and most interesting 5K Cross Country layouts. Last year, the Conference IV North High School Cross Country Championship Race was held on this course, and in 2007, the Northern Counties Cross Country Championships will be held on the this Lakeside layout.”

Pre-register by July 31, and as an incentive to pre-register, every pre-registered runner will receive a Commemorative T-Shirt.

The entry fee is $15.00 per runner.

Runners may register for the same fee on the day of the race, no later than one half hour before the race, but those registering on the day of the race will not be guaranteed a Commemorative T-Shirt.

After the race an awards ceremony will be held in the Lathrop Building where refreshments will be available.
